The Aribas team took part in the event at the venue, Tanzbrunnen, in Cologne for the first time.
A great event for representatives of the graphic arts industry with a great programme, including a performance by Querbeat, the 13-men Brasspop band from Bonn.
The Aribas team was even awarded with a medal.
We would like to thank the association, Druck & Medien Nord-West (Print & Media North-West). 🏅

The historical background of this carnival event:

In 1948, various people from the graphic arts industry came together to support each other and to get the German printing companies up and running again.

Willi Klein, then branch manager of the Cologne district of the Association of Graphic Companies in Northwest Germany, and Fritz Ziegler, the Cologne chairman, after attending a carnival meeting, drew up a plan to found the ‘Festival of Black Art’ to make the grey post-war everyday life more colourful with their own event.

Accordingly, the motto of the first meeting was “Black Art in all its many colours” and took place on February 18, 1949. Admission was 3.50 Deutschmarks, and the programme booklet read:

“We are glad that we can be more than glad. Everything is designed to give everyone a few happy hours.”
